Paul Russo

Chairman of the Board

Dr. Russo has served as Founder & Chairman of GEO since 2014, and served as Chairman & CEO from its founding in 2008 to 2014. He also serves as a Director of SnapDNA (www.snapdna.com), Teslonix (www.teslonix.com), WOO Sports (www.woosports.com) and several other start-ups (Peekaboo, Dynamount).

Prior to founding GEO, Dr. Russo Founded Silicon Optix in 2000, a privately held fabless semiconductor company, serving as Chairman & CEO through 2008. GEO acquired certain assets from Silicon Optix in early 2009. Prior to Silicon Optix, Dr. Russo was the founder, Chairman and CEO of Genesis Microchip (acquired by ST Micro in 2007) through 2000, including its successful NASDAQ IPO in 1998, and on its board until 2001. Prior to founding Genesis, he was General Manager of GE’s Microelectronics Center, Senior Manager in GE’s Industrial Electronics Group and Head, Microsystems Research at RCA’s David Sarnoff Research Center. While at RCA he worked on the world’s 1st CMOS microprocessor, and pioneered the first use of these devices in global communications (format conversion), programmable video games (RCA Studio II) and automotive engine control (Chrysler).

Dr. Russo received his B. Eng. from McGill University and his MSc and PhD in EECS from UC Berkeley. He holds eight U.S. patents, is a Fellow of the IEEE and has received numerous RCA and industry awards, including the IEEE Centennial Medal and the 2006 Tech Pioneer Award from the World Economic Forum. He served as an outside director of ATI Technologies from 2001 through its acquisition by AMD in late 2006, and MoSys, as well as numerous private venture funded start-ups acquired by public entities (e.g., RocketChips – acquired by Xilinx, Atmos – acquired by MoSys). Dr. Russo is a member of the Band of Angels, a volunteer in DEFY (turning ex-cons into entrepreneurs) and is an advisor to several early stage companies and institutional investment entities.

David Orton

President & CEO

David Orton currently serves as President & CEO of GEO Semiconductor and is on the Board of Directors. He also serves on the Board of directors of two mid to late-stage start ups: SuVolta, and Z-Space. David was Chief Executive Officer of Aptina Imaging from August 2009 through September 2012. Prior to his work at Aptina, he served as CEO at venture-backed start up, DSM Solutions from late 2007 through mid 2009, which has been renamed SuVolta. David also served in 2006-2007 as Executive Vice President of Visual and Media Businesses for AMD overseeing strategy and operations following the company’s acquisition of ATI Technologies. At ATI Technologies he served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the global fabless semiconductor company where he grew the company’s revenue from $1B in 2000 to $2.4B in 2005. He held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer at ArtX, Inc., and has held a number of senior management roles at Silicon Graphics, Inc, including Senior Vice President of the Visual Computing Group. His experience also includes graphics and semiconductor work with General Electric and Bell Laboratories. David holds patents in graphics and computer architecture. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics and economics at Wake Forest University, and a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering from Duke University.

George Duguay

Director

George A. Duguay is a senior executive with experience in the technology, financial services and resource industries.

Mr. Duguay is the President of G. Duguay Services Inc. since January 1989 and was a partner of Duguay and Ringler Corporate Services, a provider of corporate and financial administrative services to public companies, until February 2006. G. Duguay Services Inc. continues to act as a consultant in this area.

Mr. Duguay is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Intrinsyc Technologies Inc., a company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange that provides proprietary software, hardware, and services for the growing market of mobile handheld products. In addition Mr. Duguay is a Director of two other public companies. Mr. Duguay was a co-founder of Equity Financial Trust Company, a provider of transfer agent and corporate trust services. In addition, during the period May 1993 to December 2004, Mr. Duguay served as a Director of Genesis Microchip Inc., the world's leading supplier of display image processors, which during that time was listed on NASDAQ.

Mr. Duguay is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CGA) and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (F.C.I.S.).

Patrick Seul

Venture Partner, Panasonic Ventures

Patrick has over 12 years of experience managing Corporate Venture Capital funds for international companies. As a Senior Venture Partner with Panasonic Ventures, he is responsible for identifying, negotiating and leading investments in companies which strategic technologies or disruptive business models could be integrated into Panasonic products through deep technical collaborations with Panasonic’s Japanese corporate R&D and business units. As an early stage generalist investor he looks for synergies across multiple fields (technologies and business) to build strategic platforms for Panasonic. So far he has completed early stage investments in Nanotechnologies & Materials, Medical Devices, Semiconductors, Software and Energy.

Patrick brings over 25 years of startup experience in Software, Technologies, Venture investment, International Marketing and Business Development and as an Entrepreneur. He previously established SKG Ventures, Korea SK Global's CVC arm as a Managing Partner and was a Software executive with various venture-backed Silicon Valley startups in Artificial Intelligence (Ilog, Neuron Data), Financial Services (Infinity Financial Technologies/SDS, SPL WG), Enterprise Software(Saba Software) and Software Tools where his contributions resulted in two IPOs and two M&A exits. As an entrepreneur, Mr. Suel was the founding CEO of Acutend, a medical device company for the non-invasive treatment of hypertension, Genentex, a genetic immunization biotechnology company and Directis, an e-commerce infrastructure.

Mr. Suel is advising technology companies and Venture Funds. He has published various technical papers and was invited as a guest speaker to Bio2004. Academically, Patrick holds a MSc. in Artificial Intelligence and a MSc. in Physics.

Riadh Zine

Co-Founder and Principal of Roadmap Capital

Mr. Zine is the Executive Chairman of Roadmap Capital Inc. Previously, Mr. Zine was a Managing Director in Global Investment Banking at RBC Capital Markets, where he was responsible for providing strategic and financial advice to many of Canada's largest corporations, entrepreneurs and private equity firms.

Mr. Zine has over 15 years of experience executing public or private equity and debt financings, as well as mergers & acquisitions for a wide range of Canadian companies in the consumer, retail, healthcare, transportation and industrials sectors. Notable transactions include the $7.5 billion acquisition of Viterra by Glencore, a $500 million Canadian Pacific equity offering, $750 million Teranet IPO, $900 million Tim Hortons IPO, $5.6 billion sale of Dofasco to Arcelor, and $300 million private debt offering by MDS Heathcare.

Prior to joining RBC Capital Markets, Mr. Zine worked at Royal Bank of Canada on a number of strategic projects, including the proposed merger between Royal Bank of Canada and Bank of Montreal.

Mr. Zine holds a M.Sc. in Financial Engineering from École des Hautes Études Commerciales, University of Montréal.

Zorawar Bassi, PhD

CTO

Dr. Zorawar Bassi serves as CTO for GEO Semiconductor Inc. and is a key inventor of GEO's patented warping (eWARP®) technology. From 2009 to 2011, Dr Bassi served as Director of R&D at GEO, leading the research and IP development efforts. Prior to joining GEO, Dr. Bassi was a Senior DSP Engineer at Silicon Optix (2000-2009), where he architected three generations of geometry processing chips (acquired by GEO), and made important contributions to their video processing technology.

Dr. Bassi holds numerous patents world-wide, including 10 US patents, as well as having several scientific publications.

Dr. Bassi received his B.Sc. degree from University of Toronto, and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Theoretical Physics from Cornell University. Dr. Bassi is a member of the American Physical Society.

Shungo Goto

VP of Finance

Shungo Goto serves as the Company’s Vice President of Finance. Mr. Goto has extensive financial expertise in both private and public technology companies. Prior to joining GEO, he served as VP Corporate Controller at Violin Memory, Inc. From 2012 to 2015, Mr. Goto served as VP Corporate Controller of iWatt, Inc. until it was acquired by Dialog Semiconductor. Mr. Goto served as Corporate Controller of Zoran Corporation from 2003 to 2012 until it was acquired by CSR plc. Mr. Goto was Assistant Controller of Oak Technology, Inc. from 2000 to 2003 until its acquisition by Zoran Corporation.

Mr. Goto started his career as a Certified Public Accountant with Deloitte and Touche LLP and holds a B.A. degree in Economics from the University of California at San Diego.

Ronald Allard

VP Worldwide Sales

Ronald Allard serves as VP of Worldwide Sales for GEO Semiconductor, Inc. (GEO). Prior to joining GEO, Mr. Allard drove worldwide channel sales and emerging markets for Magnum Semiconductor, a leading video compression processor company for professional broadcast applications.

Prior to Magnum from 2003 to 2009, Mr. Allard served as VP of Sales for W&W Communications, Inc., a successful high definition video compression chip company acquired by Cavium Networks, Inc. From 1998 to 2003, Mr. Allard co-founded and served as VP of Business Development at InfoMove, a leading wireless technology company, where he drove sales and strategic relationships worldwide. Prior to InfoMove, Mr. Allard served in senior sales and business development roles including over 10 years with Sony Corporation.

Mr. Allard holds a Bachelor's Degree in Finance from University of Houston, Houston, Texas and a MBA Degree from Pepperdine University, Malibu, California.

Hervé Brelay

VP Software Engineering

Hervé Brelay serves as VP of Software Engineering.

Mr. Brelay brings over 20 years' experience in video processing systems designs and embedded software expertise to GEO Semiconductor.

Prior to joining GEO Semiconductor, Mr. Brelay served as VP of Software Engineering at Zenverge Inc., a leading provider of media transcoding solutions. Mr. Brelay also held senior management roles at Digital Keystone, LSI Logic and C-Cube Semiconductors.

Mr. Brelay holds an Engineering Diploma from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (Paris-Tech, France) and 5 issued US patents.

John Casey

VP & GM Automotive

John Casey serves as Vice President and General Manager of GEO Semiconductor's Automotive Business Unit.

Mr. Casey has more than 20 years of imaging and semiconductor industry experience spanning the Mobile, Digital Still Camera, Automotive, Industrial, and Biotech markets.

Prior to joining GEO, Mr. Casey drove worldwide Marketing for the Automotive and Industrial Business Unit at Aptina Imaging.

During Mr. Casey's nine year tenure at Aptina he held senior positions in Marketing and Sales, including the position of Senior Director of Marketing for the Mobile, PC and Gaming Business Unit. Mr. Casey previously held roles in RnD and Engineering at the surveillance camera startup Pixim, and at PerkinElmer as part of the CCD image sensor and camera group.

John holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo.

Kent Goodin

VP & GM Consumer Products

Kent Goodin serves as Vice President and General Manager of GEO Semiconductor's Consumer Products.

Mr. Goodin has over 30 years of semiconductor, systems and software product development expertise with a primary focus on video processing.

Prior to joining GEO, Mr. Goodin was the Executive Vice President of Engineering for Zenverge Inc. and was responsible for developing and bringing to market the company's family of transcoder products for the cable television marketplace.

Prior to his role at Zenverge, Mr. Goodin was the Executive Vice President of Engineering at Silicon Optix, a leading provider of video processing solutions for both commercial and consumer applications. Mr. Goodin also held executive management positions at Parama Networks, Mediamatics/National Semiconductor and Weitek.

Mr. Goodin holds MSEE and BSEE degrees from the University of Louisville.

Mike Hopton

VP Operations & GM Toronto

Michael Hopton currently serves as VP and GM Toronto Operations for GEO Semiconductor Inc (GEO). Prior to joining GEO, Mr. Hopton served as VP Operations at Silicon Optix Inc from 2004 until 2008, he also served as Director of Operations from 2000 (when the company was founded) until 2004.

Prior to Silicon Optix Mr. Hopton served as Manager of Manufacturing Engineering at Genesis Microchip Inc. from 1995-2000. In this position, he supported the development qualification, release to production, and sustaining engineering on Genesis products. Prior to 1995, Mr. Hopton performed test program development, characterization and production engineering on Genesis products. He started his career at Texas Instruments working as Senior Product Engineer on mixed-signal devices for the Automotive and Cell Phone Markets from 1988 to 1991.

Mr. Hopton is a 1988 graduate from the Heirot-Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland, with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

Hiro Ito

VP & GM Japan

Hiro Ito currently serves as GEO's VP and GM Japan. Prior to joining GEO, Mr. Ito served as Managing Director at Intersil Corporation (NASDAQ: ISIL) since its acquisition of Techwell (NASDAQ: TWLL) in 2010. While at Techwell, he served as President of Techwell Japan from 2006 until 2010. Prior to joining Techwell, Mr. Ito served as General Partner of Global Technologies Alliance, a venture capital firm specializing in investments in startup companies in the high-tech sector. Prior to Global Technologies Alliance, Mr. Ito served as General Manager, Business Development of Kanematsu, a Japanese Trading firm specializing in business opportunities between US and Japan.

Mr. Ito is a 1982 graduate from the University in Tokyo, Japan, with a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering.

Pradip A. Thaker, PhD

GM India Operations & Sr Director (VLSI and H/W Engineering)

Dr. Pradip A. Thaker has 22 years of semiconductor industry experience in developing and productizing large and complex ICs for automotive and IoT – both in video domain, multimedia, computer connectivity and DSPs with multimillion dollars' worth of revenue generation for each product-line. He brings first-hand experience of working for revenue-focused mid-size companies such as Analog Devices and Hughes Network Systems, execution-savvy large companies such as Texas Instruments and technology-oriented small start-up companies such as Zagros Networks and Beceem Communications. He started his career in USA and has been working and living in India for past 10 years.

Dr. Thaker holds PhD (VLSI Systems) in EE from George Washington University, USA. He served as an adjunct faculty until 2003 while serving full-time in industry as a Principal Engineer. He also served as a member of ECE Advisory Board at the George Washington University.

He holds 6 patents and 2 more patent applications are under processing. He has over 10 technical publications and has been invited speaker and panelist at reputed technical events in USA and India. He is a recipient of industry and academic awards for excellence.
